Level Two - The Town

So you've gotten out of the castle. Big deal. You still have to find Mina before the clock strikes 6 a.m. and Dracula is fried to a crisp. This is easier said than done. The lynch mobs all around town don't seem to happy to see you, and will attempt to kill you at every turn. Not to mention that Mina never seems to be in the same place twice.

Luckly, there's lots of people around to suck dry...

Characters and items for Level 2

You, better known as the Count Dracula

Fang Fodder. These are the guys you want to run into on the streets of the city. They can't hurt you. Suck em dry and they leave a random item as seen below.

The Cartguy. Absolutely useless. He says only one thing: "You have a map which can help you." Yeh? So? Every single stinking one of you guys say the exact same thing!

Horse. (or sheep, pig, etc) There's lots of these running around the town. You cannot interact with them in any way, and they are completely harmless.

Lynch Mob. These guys don't like you very much. They come in groups of two, three, or the mob you see above, and they're all just as fatal. One touch and you're dead

Key. Dropped when you kill a resident. You need one of these for every house you decide to enter, including Mina's

Four-leaf Clover. Dropped when you kill a resident. I really haven't figured out what this does, may be unused since the game is unfinished.

Magic Lamp. Dropped when you kill a resident. Use it to enter a trapdoor.

Old Man. Actually, unlike most people in town, is quite helpful. Talk to him and he will show you things that are near where Mina is, such as sewers or bakeries.

Sleeping girl. Aww, isn't this precious?
Suck her dry.

Enslaved Girl. The result of above. She will lead you in the direction of Mina's house, but will not stick around for long. Lynch mobs seem to stay away while she's leading you.

Pile of crap. Result of the horse? I have no idea, but its on the road in a few places. You cannot interact with it. Just don't step in it.

The Reebok Pump. A power-up item. Lets Dracula run twice as fast and jump twice as high.

Here's the map of the town, with the bridges filled in compliments of the old man. As you can see, the town is pretty freakin big, and it's pretty easy to waste a lot of time here. Just don't forget the time limit.

Controls are a little different simple:
START pauses the game
SELECT brings up the status screen
CONTROL PAD moves Dracula
A BUTTON Sucks townpeople dry/picks up items
B BUTTON does nothing

This level is a bit more complicated than the first, but the randomness prevents a full walkthrough from being written.

*Be sure to stock up on keys. Besides the fact that every house has something helpful in it, you never know when a mob is gonna come at you from both sides.

* Every five drainings let you turn into the level's Creature of the Night. Lynch Mobs can't kill you while you're a wolf, so take advantage!

* He may seem to be useless, but the old man really is quite helpful and you should find one right away. The quicker you know the general area Mina is in, the less time you have to waste just wandering around the city.

* The enslaved girl can be a very big help, but also very stupid. For a while when she's leading you around, there are no mobs running around. However, when she's about to vanish, she'll run you right into a mob a lot, so be careful.

*Die as much as you want... as long as you have the blood for it. This works exactly the same as in the first level. When you hear the tone (Dah dah dah DUHHH) be careful, one more death, and it's game over - suck more blood out of some of the fang fodder walking around.

*This room sucks, you REALLY don't want to be here unless you need to - which on the first runthrough of the game is NEVER. Some houses have trap doors on the floor in them - they're pretty obvious so you're not going to mistakenly end up here. You need a magic lamp to open the trap door. Why? Probably because the game designer was smoking crack or something. All you need to do is cross the screen and you'll emerge in a different house. However, you've got arrows, rocks, and other crap falling on you, along with rolling boulders, flying arrows, well, you get the idea. This room is gonna cost you a good percentage of your blood, so avoid it if possible.

Creature of the Night:

The Wolf

Suck enough blood, and you become the wolf, giving you the ability to run quite a bit faster, although not as fast as the Reebok Pump powerup. While you're a wolf, none of the lynch mobs can touch you either!

Finally! Mina, the woman you've been searching for the whole game!

Talk to her and you get the ending...

Okay...

followed by...

AAAAAGH!! NOT AGAIN!!!

Yes, the game simply loops around again! Why Mina just doesn't stay in the damn castle I'll never know.

This time, it's harder and the characters are different. I've looped the game three times now, with no change in the ending. Not a bad little game, but the fact that it never ends is more than a little disappointing...
