Around the time of the NES's
initial release, you couldn't walk into a store without
stumbling across one of these - usually in a very
promanent aisle postition to attract the kiddies and their
cash-carrying parents. Being one of the "lucky" ones to
get an Atari 7800 instead of a NES back in '86, I tended
to spend most of my mother's shopping time on the NES.
Thanks to Toot, we now have a 100% confirmed picture of the M82 unit! This
console basically functioned like a multi-cart NES, being able to take 12 games of
the store's choice and be able to select them with the big red button on the front. Also
thanks to his generousity, we have scans of the back, bottom, PCB, as well as the manual
to the unit!!

| The
ROM available here, apparently, was dumped from the
PAL version of the M82. However, I really do not see
what would be too entirely different about an NTSC ROM - it would still do
the exact same thing - not a whole heck of a lot. This basically -
without the physical hardware of the M82 - is no more than an offical
Nintendo demo. |

Personally, I still think
this would make a very cool intro screen to an
emulator. While I suppose it would be nifty at first, it
would get old after hearing it for the 10,000th time i
suppose. However, if you haven't seen this since a visit
to K-Mart in the 80s, give it a shot. You'll get a smile
out of it in the very least....
