Atari 5200 Test Carts

This test cart was the personal test cart of Peter Gerard, who was the chief architect of the Atari 5200 Super System. According to several sources, these tests were used in the development of the 5200 hardware.

On the Macintosh 5200 emu, Jum52, this is the most functional of the four test carts. Because it is an early in development emulator, your experiences with these ROMS, especially on VSS will be different.

The cart itself consists of three tests. The first, pictured below is the "dots" test. The dots are controlled and moved by the conrollers. The second test, pictured to the left, is the "Color Bars" test. I think these should be in color, but in Jum52 they appear grey. The third test does nothing on Jum52 except display a black screen. The three tests are cycled through using the fire button.

PAM SALT 1.0

I've found two different versions of the PAM SALT cartridges. This one, PAM Stand ALone Tests 1.0 will at least boot up on Jum52, however no matter what button you press, you end up with the screen below.

Well, I suppose at least now we see what happens with one of these carts when the tests fail.

Well, This ROM doesn't do a whole heck of a lot for me. All it will do on Jum52 is load the screen to the left and promptly freeze at that position, no matter how many times START is pressed.

So I was discussing some things with my friends about the Hannibal movie. Personally, they disagree with me when I say the book was much better and that the movie should have had Mason Verger's sister in it, but whatever.

Huh? Oh, the ROM. Right. It doesn't do anything on any emulator. Pic is to the left and rom's below if you're interested.
