This game, had it seen
release, would have been a color port of the old black and white Atari
arcade game from 1976. This also would have been the second time this
particular game would have been released for home play. On The Atari Historical Society
website they have a single picture of the standalone home
version of Stunt Cycle. Unlike the other two versions
of this game however, this game would not have come with
the custom handlebar controller, but would instead use the
paddle controller for the throttle. Not bad, but it
certainly makes this game more difficult.

The goal of the game is to
jump over the "cars" at the bottom of the screen, Evil Knevil style, and
land on the other ramp or on the ground before the white
dot. Making the jump will add another "car" between the
ramps and making the jump harder. Miss, and you smash
into the ground, exploding. If you go too fast, you can
also go flying off the end of the screen, which will also
cause you to crash and lose a life. A rather simple, yet
entertaining game. |

Not bad, however, I can see
why this game never saw release - it's just too
repetitive, even for a VCS game. It should also be noted
that this game was reworked after it was cancelled - it
became a Dukes of Hazzard game and used the joystick
controllers instead of the paddles... very odd indeed...
