Haha! I never thought as
long as I lived that there would be a home version of
Whack-a-mole! Now, there was the bonus game in Sam and
Max Hit the Road, Whack-a-Rat, that while cool, just
wasn't the same. This however, this ladies and gentleman,
is a true home version of Whack-A-Mole!! What heartless
corporate executive could have possibly axed this from
their lineup? Well, in all likelyhood, none. This game
has a 1983 copyright, and we all know what happened in
1983... |

I get a kick out of this
game - I really do like Whack-a-mole, and this is a pretty
good translation of the game. Although you don't get to
literally smash the little mole with a giant hammer, you
do get to use the Keypad controller, with the mole holes
represented by the 1 through 9 keys on the keypad. There
are also two different kind of moles to smash. The red
ones are your standard mole, and then there are the purple
moles with a crown on which are worth more points. Fun
shit! |

There's nothing like
smashing the hell out of a few helpless rodents to relieve
stress. This game would have been really cool if it
actually came with some kind of "hammer" controller, but
it was intended for the keypad controller, most likely for
cost reasons. Still, a really fun game!
