Frog Pond was apparently
being developed to compete with the M-Network release of
Frogs N' Flies. From what I read, this game was canned
when Frogs N' Flies made it to market first.
The right game won. This one is inferior.
Now, the gameplay of the game isn't bad at all - in fact it's a fun little
game. However, the horrible strained blood-curdling noises that this thing
emits and tries to pass off as game sounds are just horribly horribly
unnacceptable. For that single fact, Frogs N' Flies will always be a
better game, even if a more complete prototype of this ever appears.

Gameplay on this one is very
simple - when you jump, the frog shoots out his
tounge. Catch the flies with your tounge. Different
flies are worth different ammounts of points, but be
careful. Take to long to capture a fly and it will fly
away. (no pun intended) If too many flies fly away, the
game ends with the screen to the right - night falling.
There's not a whole lot else to this game... but if
you press up or down while your frog is sitting still,
he'll croak in a 2600-ish kind of way. =D |

This game, except for the
sounds, is kinda fun. However, this is one of those
games that makes the "MUTE" button your best friend. If
this truely was meant as a competitor to the infinately
more fun Frogs N Flies, especially in two player mode,
then the right decision was made to keep this one from
wide release. So grab your earplugs and give it a whirl!
