One of the better Atari 2600
prototypes that are released at this time. Donald Duck's
Speedboat really isn't that bad of a game once you figure
out the gameplay. The object of the game is to get to the
finish line in the fastest time possible. (duh) Now, the
way to play this game is to jam on the fire button to go
forward - while you can move forward without it, you do
not gain points unless the fire button is held
down. However, if you slam into something - a rock, Huey
Dewey, or Louie, seaweed, a whirlpool, or any of the other
obsticles, what you're going to need to do is let go of
the fire button and then move back - something you can
only do when the throttle (fire button) is not on. |

In usual Atari style, there
are several games to be chosen from. 1 is the easiest and
6 is the hardest, chosen on the title screen with the
SELECT button. As the games get harder there are more
screens and more obsticles in the harder games. Now,
depending how many points you get while playing, the three
nephews will bring out a trophy at the end, either Bronze,
Silver, or Gold. I've only managed to get the Gold once,
so it's not as easy as you'd think. |

I'd be willing to bet that
this game would have been released to the public if it
wasn't for the Crash. This game is entirely complete, and
it was even released in Brazil commercially. Chalk this
one up to another death of the Great Crash of 1983.
