An Assortment of Homemade Baseball Cards

Dennis used to make baseball cards out of
the pictures that he took. You all know Gene.
Harold Wills was a looooonnnggg time manager and player
in many leagues. He joined our team as a
coach after his team (the Evanston Arrows/Minors)
folded. He was a true authority figure, his
commanding voice and well-spaced pauses in
his speech got your attention. Although he
was probably 46 years old (or older!) when
he joined us, he contributed as a pinch hitter
on many an occasion. The next one is me.
Dave Sampson was a fun loving guy who pitched and played
infield. He was a fair pitcher, fair infielder
and an ok hitter. Tony Greco was talented ball player. He caught and
played second base. He had a cannon arm and
great reflexes. He used to try and jack home
runs and hence flew out a lot. He and Dave
Levin used to exchange barbs constantly,
with Dave usually winning. I heard that he
is playing in an over 30 league now. Carl Dover was an outfielder also equipped with a very
strong arm. A fine hitter also, he usually
batted leadoff or second. He had a hot temper
displayed it constantly. I'm sure that this
is helping him out a ton now in his job as
an Elk Grove cop.
