Baseball Cards #4

Clockwise From Top Left:
Another Gene card with Amundsen HS at Winnemac in the
background. Gene's brother John Johnson. He played outfield and was only briefly
a team member, filling a needed gap in the
teams roster. He was not nearly as good as
Gene, but contributed when he was there.
His most famous contribution to Angels folklore
is something he said during a game when Gene
was arguing with an umpire. "Get 'em
Gene" followed by "you're messing
with the wrong family blue!" were the
lines, and this seemed to send Gene over
the edge. He also had the distinction of
being the pitcher on an opposing club who
gave up the longest home run I have ever
seen to Dave Stamps, another brief Angel
teammate. You all know Dave Bruchman from an earlier page. Mark Rzotkiewicz was an Angel outfielder for a number of
years in the early 90's. He had a strong
arm, good glove and good power at the plate.
He struck out a bit too much, but he improved
every year he was on the team. He now plays
for a team in the suburbs. Thats me batting
at Winnemac. You all know Scott McDonald from an earlier page.
